BIOGRAPHY
Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colmenares was born in Venezuela. Her mother, Mary Bridget Colmenares, a housewife, was of Spanish nationality. Her father, Juan Maria Sarcos, was born in Yaracuy and was a professional trader. The youngest of 13 children, Ivian was nicknamed Lunasol by her mother.
Ivian was made an orphan at the age of eight, resulting in her moving to a convent school run by the ‘Sacred Heart of Jesus’ Congregation of Sisters in the city of San Carlos, Cojedes State. Ivian's stay at the boarding school helped her to become a responsible young woman. She was a model student with strong values and regarded everyone around her in the convent as her family.
Ivian excelled in her studies and at the age of 15 she began an academic career, studying at the Graduate Institute of Agricultural Technology IUTEAGRO whilst working to fund her education.
Ivian set her sights on the capital, and in 2007 with very little money, Ivian went in search of a new career. She began working in Caracas, commuting daily from her home in the Valles del Tuy.
In 2008, she was accepted into the Universidad Central de Venezuela and moved to Parroquia El Valle in the capital. Ivian is still in regular contact with the nuns from the convent and often sends them gifts.
